Kitty Party Games for Ladies: 36 Ideas With Answers, One Minute Games and Themes for Every Month
By The Rondovo team · Published · Updated · 16 min read
The best kitty party games for ladies are short, need almost nothing from the cupboard, and let the whole group play at once: one minute challenges with bangles, coins or a pack of cards, a quiz round with answers the host can read out, and a game of tambola (housie) to finish. Below are 36 kitty party games, each with how to play, plus ready made quiz rounds with answers, the Hindi names hosts use, a theme for every month and festival, and ideas for an online kitty on a video call.
In short
- Plan three or four games for a two to three hour kitty: one icebreaker, two or three one minute games or a quiz, and tambola at the end.
- One minute games are the kitty favourite: one player at a time, a timer, a prize for the best score. Ten members take about 15 minutes per game.
- Quiz rounds with answers (spices, sarees, festivals, films) work for every age and need only paper and pens.
- Tambola is still the classic closer. Full rules and the prize list are in our tambola guide.
- Pick a theme for the month (Teej green, monsoon, Diwali, Christmas) and the games, dress code and food follow from it.
How to plan games for a kitty party
A kitty runs on a rhythm. Members arrive over half an hour, snacks go round, the kitty (the monthly pool) is drawn, and somewhere in between the host runs games. The games carry the afternoon, so plan them like a menu.
A simple running order for 10 to 15 members:
- Arrival game (15 minutes): something people join as they walk in, like the handbag hunt or a chit with a question on every plate.
- Two one minute games (30 minutes): everyone gets a turn, the host keeps time on a phone and writes scores on a sheet.
- Food and the kitty draw.
- A quiz round or a team game (20 minutes): paper and pens, or two teams for dumb charades.
- Tambola (20 to 30 minutes): the finale, with the prizes on the table where everyone can see them.
Keep small prizes ready for each game: a bangle set, a candle, a box of mithai, a plant. Two prizes per game (winner and runner up) keep more people in the race. If the group likes to play cards, play for points, not money.
One minute kitty party games (with bangles, coins, cards, dice and straws)
One minute games are the backbone of an Indian kitty. Each member gets 60 seconds to do a small, slightly silly task, and the best score wins. They are fair (everyone gets the same minute), quick to explain, and the watching is half the fun.
Set a timer you can all hear. Do one practice round. Write every score down as you go, because someone will ask.
1. Bangle ring toss
You need: 6 to 10 glass or metal bangles, an empty bottle. Stand behind a line about two metres from the bottle and toss the bangles one by one, trying to ring the neck. Most bangles on the bottle in a minute wins. Use metal or plastic bangles if the floor is hard.
2. Bangle pass on a straw
You need: a straw per player, a few bangles. Players stand in a line holding a straw in their mouth. The first person hooks a bangle on her straw and passes it to the next straw, no hands. Play it as a team race between two lines: most bangles to the end in a minute wins.
3. Coin stack, one hand
You need: 30 coins per player. Stack coins one at a time using only one hand. The tallest standing stack when the minute ends wins. If it topples, start again from the base.
4. Blindfold coin sort
You need: a mix of ₹1, ₹2, ₹5 and ₹10 coins, four bowls, a dupatta for a blindfold. Blindfolded, sort the coins by touch into the right bowls. Each correct coin scores one point, each wrong one loses one. The newer coins are close in size, which is exactly why this one gets loud.
5. Coin bounce
You need: a steel glass, coins. Bounce a coin off the table into the glass. One point per coin that lands and stays in.
6. Card tower
You need: a pack of playing cards per player. Build the tallest card tower you can in one minute. Count the storeys still standing at the buzzer.
7. Find the four sevens
You need: a shuffled pack. Race to pull out all four sevens (or all four queens) from the pack. Fastest time wins. Shuffle properly between players.
8. Dice tower
You need: 10 dice per player (Ludo boxes are a good source). Stack dice into a single tower. Tallest tower still standing at the end of the minute wins.
9. Roll a six, unwrap the parcel
You need: a die, a small wrapped gift taped up well, a pair of kitchen gloves. Everyone sits in a circle passing the die. Whoever rolls a six pulls on the gloves and starts unwrapping, until someone else rolls a six and takes over. Whoever finally opens it keeps the prize. This one is not timed, it just runs until the parcel is open.
10. Straw and rajma
You need: a straw per player, a plate of dry rajma or chana, an empty bowl. Suck a bean onto the end of the straw and drop it into the bowl. Most beans moved in a minute wins.
11. Dal sorting
You need: a mixed handful of rajma, chana and moong for each player. Sort the three into separate heaps with your fingers. Most complete heap of moong (the small one) decides ties.
12. Bindi on the face, blindfolded
You need: a big face drawn on chart paper, a bindi or a sticky dot, a blindfold. Turn the player around twice, then she sticks the bindi where she thinks the middle of the forehead is. Nearest to the mark wins. The kitty version of pin the tail on the donkey.
13. Seven pleats
You need: a saree or a long dupatta for each player. Make seven even pleats and hold them together. Neatest set of seven in a minute wins, judged by the group. Experienced saree wearers get a handicap: one hand only.
14. Cotton balls on a spoon
You need: a spoon, a bowl of cotton balls, an empty bowl. Hold the spoon in your mouth and carry cotton balls one at a time to the empty bowl, no hands. Most balls in a minute wins.
15. Name ten in a minute
You need: nothing. The host calls a category and a letter, for example "sweets starting with K" or "actresses starting with S". Name ten in a minute. Kaju katli, kalakand, kheer, kulfi...
16. Tongue twister marathon
You need: nothing. Say an old tongue twister like "kachcha papad, pakka papad" as many times as you can in one minute without slipping. The group counts. Any stumble stops the count.
Kitty party games without props
Some kitties are at a restaurant, some at a home where the host has no time to shop. These need no props at all, or only paper and a pen.
17. Two truths and a lie
Each member says three things about herself, one of them false. Everyone else guesses the lie. In a kitty that has met every month for years, finding a fact nobody knows is the real challenge. Our two truths and a lie guide has examples.
18. Most likely to
The host reads "who is most likely to..." and everyone points at a member on the count of three. Keep it kind: most likely to arrive with homemade pickle, most likely to know every neighbour's news. There are 160 more in our most likely to questions.
19. Dumb charades
Two teams, one member acts a film title without speaking, her team guesses. It is the safest bet for a group with mixed ages. For lists sorted by difficulty, see our dumb charades movie names.
20. Antakshari
Sing a song, the next team sings one that starts with the last letter. Split by table or by age group. Rules and twists are in our antakshari rules.
21. Who am I?
Write a famous name (an actress, a cricketer, a cartoon character) on a chit and stick it on a member's forehead without her seeing it. She asks yes or no questions until she guesses. First to guess her own name wins.
22. Never have I ever, kitty style
Everyone holds up five fingers. Take turns saying something you have never done ("never have I ever made gol roti on the first try"). Anyone who has done it folds a finger. Last one with fingers up wins.
23. Pass the parcel with forfeit chits
Wrap a small gift in many layers with a chit between each one: sing two lines, do a dance step, tell a funny story about your wedding day. Music stops, whoever holds the parcel opens one layer and does the chit.
24. Lucky chair
The kitty classic. Before guests arrive, stick a chit under one or two chairs. At a moment the host chooses, everyone checks under their seat. No skill, small prize, big smiles.
25. Handbag hunt
The host calls out an item and the first member to produce it from her handbag scores a point: a safety pin, a hair clip, a receipt older than a month, a mint, a photo of a child, a lipstick in red. Ten items, most points wins.

Team games for a big kitty
When the kitty has 15 or more members, split into two teams by table. Team games keep everyone in the room.
32. Kitty Pictionary
One member draws on a chart paper, her team guesses within a minute. Use topics the group knows: a wedding ritual, a street food, a TV serial character. Our drawing games guide has more ideas.
33. Bollywood dance relay
Play ten seconds of a well known song. The first team to get a member up and doing its signature step wins the point. No song lyrics needed, only moves.
34. Tambola (housie)
The classic. Every member gets a ticket of 15 numbers, the host calls numbers from 1 to 90, and prizes go to Early Five, each line, the four corners and the full house. Callers love the number nicknames. For ticket layout, the full list of prizes (dividends) and how to settle a bogey claim, read our tambola rules and tickets guide. To run it without printing, our Tambola deals a ticket on each member's own screen and checks claims instantly.
Kitty party games for couples
Couples kitties (often a festive one, like Diwali or New Year) need games that put partners on the same side.
35. How well do you know your husband?
Ask the wives five questions in one room and the husbands the same five in another, then read the answers side by side. Example questions: his favourite sabzi, the first film you watched together, his worst habit, the city he would move to tomorrow, who apologises first. One point for every match.
36. Balloon dance
Each couple holds a balloon between their foreheads and dances to a song. Drop the balloon and you are out. Last couple dancing wins. For more couple ideas, see our games for couples.
Kitty party games in Hindi

| चूड़ी फेंक (chudi phenk) | Bangle ring toss |
| बिंदी लगाओ (bindi lagao) | Bindi on the face, blindfolded |

A quick Hindi way to announce a one minute game: "Ek minute, ek kaam, sabse zyada score, wahi jeetega." (One minute, one task, highest score wins.)
Kitty party themes by month and festival
A monthly theme makes planning easier: the dress code, the snacks and two of the games come from it. Festival dates move every year with the lunar calendar, so check the month before you fix the date.
| Month | Theme | Games that fit |
|---|---|---|
| January | Kites for Makar Sankranti, Lohri and Pongal | Festival quiz, bangle toss with kite colours, til ladoo prize |
| February | Basant Panchami yellow, or a Valentine's couples kitty | Couple quiz, balloon dance |
| March | Holi colours, Women's Day | See our Holi games, colour scavenger hunt |
| April | Baisakhi, Vishu, Bihu, Puthandu (new year festivals) | Festival quiz, dance relay |
| May | Mango summer, Mother's Day | Name ten mango dishes in a minute, paheliyan |
| June and July | Monsoon (chai and pakoda) | Umbrella relay, antakshari with rain songs only |
| July or August | Teej, all green | Bangle games, mehendi contest, Teej quiz on Parvati and Shiva |
| August | Raksha Bandhan, Independence Day, Onam | Tricolour dress code, saree quiz, pookalam contest |
| September | Ganesh Chaturthi | Modak tasting, paheliyan |
| October | Navratri, Durga Puja, Karva Chauth | Garba step contest, dumb charades |
| November | Diwali | Tambola, card games for points, rangoli contest |
| December | Christmas and New Year | Secret Santa, resolutions game, tambola |
Teej kitty games are a popular search. Ask everyone to wear green and bangles, run the bangle ring toss and bangle pass, add a mehendi design contest judged by the group, and close with a short Teej quiz (Hariyali Teej honours the reunion of Parvati and Shiva; it falls in the month of Shravan).
Monsoon kitty games: an umbrella relay (open, walk five steps, close, pass), an antakshari where every song has to mention rain or clouds, and a chai tasting game where members guess the spice in each cup.
Online kitty party games (for 10 members or more)
Online kitties started during lockdown and many groups kept one a year for members who moved abroad. A video call handles the chatting; the games need a little planning.
- Works well on any video call: quiz rounds (the host reads, members type answers in the chat), name ten in a minute, two truths and a lie, paheliyan, who am I with the name typed privately.
- Works badly on a call: anything with music in sync (antakshari has a lag, so sing one at a time), physical relays, anything where the host has to check a ticket on someone's screen.
- Tambola online: either the host calls from a number generator and members mark printed tickets at home, or you use a browser game that deals tickets and checks claims.
Rondovo is one option for the online part. The host opens a room and shares a four letter code; members join free on their own screen with no account or download, while everyone stays on the video call. Each member picks "Just this screen", so she sees the game herself and nobody has to share a screen. For a kitty of up to 16, Tambola, Act It Out (charades, with the other team choosing the first word of your turn), Most Likely To and Two Truths all fit. It cannot replace the bangle games or the food. For more online party ideas, see our online party games and the full list of party games.
Questions people ask
What games can be played in a kitty party?
One minute games (bangle toss, coin stack, card tower, straw and rajma), quiz rounds with answers (spices, sarees, films, riddles), team games like dumb charades, Pictionary and antakshari, and tambola to finish. Mix one icebreaker, two quick games and tambola for a two to three hour kitty.
What are good one minute games for a kitty party?
Bangle ring toss, coin stack with one hand, blindfold coin sort, card tower, find the four sevens, dice tower, straw and rajma, dal sorting, seven saree pleats and bindi on the face. Each needs a timer and household things.
How many games should a kitty party have?
Three or four for a two to three hour kitty. One minute games take about 15 minutes for 10 members, a quiz about 20, and tambola 20 to 30. More than that and the games eat into the chatting.
What are good kitty party games for 10 members online?
Online tambola, quiz rounds read by the host, name ten in a minute, two truths and a lie, and charades where the other team chooses the word. Keep each game under 15 minutes and give everyone a turn.
What prizes are good for kitty party games?
Small, useful and the same value for every game: bangle sets, candles, mini plants, a box of mithai, a kitchen gadget, a voucher for a coffee. Keep a bigger prize for the tambola full house.
Are there kitty party games with playing cards that are not gambling?
Yes. Card tower, find the four sevens, memory (turn all cards face down and find pairs) and rummy played for points. If your group plays teen patti, play with play chips or points. Rules on betting with money vary by state, so keep the kitty and the card table separate.
Pictionary is a trademark of its owner. Rondovo is not affiliated with it.
